Creative Engagement Sessions

I love it when photographs are unique, creative and personal. When they are themed and tell a story, it's so much more interesting to look at. Here are some of my favourite engagement sessions:

1) Stuffed Animal Inspired
I love how this one really shows how young at heart and fun-loving this couple is. These pictures really made me smile.

2) Disney Pixar's Up Inspired
My husband and I did an Up-inspired save-the-date video (because we are Disney fans!) and we also had the grape soda pin and a ton of balloons. I love how this couple went one step further with the miniature painted house and grape soda bottles!

3) Vintage Inspired
These pictures are from the famous Impulse Photography, a Toronto-based photographer that has breath-taking photos. The first one reminds me of the movie, A Walk To Remember. They are one good-looking couple!

Someone once asked me why couples choose to do engagement sessions, or "e-sessions" as photographers call it. Well, here are my top three reasons:

1) You get to know the photographer a bit better so you feel more relaxed and comfortable on your wedding day. It is a little strange meeting your photographer for the second time, on your wedding day, and having him/her photograph you in between your clothing changes.

2) You can decide whether you like your photographer's work/style/service. I've had a friend switch photographers after their e-session when they realized they weren't receiving the quality of service they expected from their photographer. It's a great way to find out early on if they are the right "fit" for you, instead of after the wedding day when there are no re-do's for photos! Not all photographers are the same and they can be different than their blog personality.

3) You have some nice pictures to use for your invitations, programs/menus, website, and portrait at the reception!
